Idiots...

nti-gay group One Million Mums is now targeting comic books following upcoming gay storylines in Marvel and DC titles.
The latest campaign from the group follows their recent objections to advertisements with gay couples by JC Penny, GAP and Urban Outfitters.
The conservative Christian group is objecting to a gay wedding between Northstar and his boyfriend Kyle Jinadu in Marvel Comic’s Astonishing X-Men, as well as the revelation that a DC comics character will soon be revealed as gay.
A post on the One Million Mums website reads: “Children desire to be just like superheroes. Children mimic superhero actions and even dress up in costumes to resemble these characters as much as possible. Can you imagine little boys saying, ‘I want a boyfriend or husband like X-Men?’

“This is ridiculous! Why do adult gay men need comic superheroes as role models? They don't but do want to indoctrinate impressionable young minds by placing these gay characters on pedestals in a positive light.
“These companies are heavily influencing our youth by using children's superheroes to desensitize and brainwash them in thinking that a gay lifestyle choice is normal and desirable. As Christians, we know that homosexuality is a sin (Romans 1:26-27).”
The group is encouraging their followers to write to the comic book publishers and urge them to cancel all plans for gay superhero characters immediately.
The wedding between Northstar and Kyle Jinadu is set to appear in issue #51 of Amazing X-Men.

Some people just have way to much time on their hands!

DC comics gay character revelaed?

After all the speculation, it looks like Alan Scott, the original Green Lantern is indeed the character who will be re introduced to the DC universe as gay. I for one am pleased with this, being a massive Green Lantern and Alan Scott fan, I can only hope it helps to spread the word that being gay is normal. Taken from comicbookmovie.com:

Earlier this week, it was revealed that a DC superhero would be reintroduced as a homosexual in "The New 52" continuity. So, who is it? Hold on to your power rings Green Lantern fans, the answer may just surprise you!

The ever reliable lads over at Bleeding Cool have revealed that they've recently heard rumblings that the DC Comics character about to be revealed as a gay man is none other that Alan Scott, the original Green Lantern who is currently making his presence felt in James Robinson's Earth 2 series. The site didn't run a story, but have now heard from another "much stronger" source that he is indeed the superhero about to come out of the closet. We'll be sure to bring you official confirmation when and if it comes. How do you guys feel about this news? Sound off with your thoughts in the usual place.
